The shuttle with the arriving Caliburnite delegation arrived just as scheduled. Everyone else was in their place. Everyone except for Brian Windsong, the chief negotiator, but he was only slightly late at the moment and there were many things that could account for that.
(okay everyone, have fun)

Ian walked at a fast pace and arrived at the docking ring where the Caliburnite delegation was arriving at as he was late, very late. "I've got to find me a better babysitter for those two," he said to himself as he came to a stop and took his place with the other officers.

Nyx looked at Tallus and cocked an eyebrow. "Misplace something Ensign?" she asked and then looked around. "Our Chief Diplomat hasn't arrived yet, and he left ahead of me."

In her mind, very faint and seemingly from very far away Cara heard ~I need you....~ followed by an intense burst of psychic pain.

Cara felt her legs buckle at the pain ~Bri!~ staggering she felt Dev catch her.

Tallus reared his head up. "This charade is over. =A=Marines, locate Lt. Cmdr. Windsong, and report back.=A= Major Treia, I need you to focus on that cry. I am going to enter your mind and find where it is coming from. If you'll let me." Tallus said. It is only the strong thoughts that he cannot block out anymore. This definitely classified as something that could break his mental block.

"Please, I will be just as vulnerable myself. So if you choose to probe my head, do so. But I need to locate that cry."

Nodding Cara swallowed back the nausea. "It's fine, Tallus ... my shields are mainly over Kyle at the moment anyway ..." She sent mentally ~You have permission to look.~ She knew he had had similar roles to her and Dev, so he wouldn't be shocked by what he might see.

While Tallus rallied his Marines, Devyn quickly informed the security chief and headed toward the reception hall. The chief would want his forces guarding the rest of the diplomats.

"Nyx, I want you with the security officers at the reception. Stay there until this is cleared up." He looked at the CMO. He was responsible for her safety as well as Cara's. If Cara was going off on the hunt, he needed to stay with her.

Nyx agreed but followed the Marines and Tallus. She figured Devyn would grab her and pull her back but he needed to look after the ones he could still protect. He probably didn't notice she followed the Major.

Lt. O'dell was walking the the decks as she had been. Cat and mouse... she frowned as she replayed the conversation in her head; there were reasons she didn't have friends. It was off in the corner that something shiny caught her attention. Sam was distracted from her self-loathing conversation long enough to find a communicator on the floor in the corner. She thought it odd and tapped her combadge. =A= Captain Teague, is everyone in your party accounted for, sir?" =A= she asked her Chief as she held the communicator in the palm of her hand.

"Affirmative. All are present and accounted for Lieutenant," Adam replied as he made a hasty order to his marines and security personnel.

Cara mentally sent to Dev ~Dev? You up for a hunt?~ It wasn't that she didn't trust Tallus and his marines to find Brian, but she knew she and Dev could move more quickly on their own.

"Yeah, let me find Nyx and make sure she's safe." He knew she couldn't do more than try but if there was really trouble, he wanted her safe. Nyx was a doctor, not a warrior, and her body wasn't made for fighting. That was the purpose of her altered state.

~Lieutenant Adanyxia will remain with me.~ Tallus said. He was listening to all thoughts trying to get a reading on where the Commander could be.

=A=Lieutenant O'Dell, this is Major Karikkar. What is your current location?=A=

Damn it, Samantha frowned. She knew something was wrong when she saw Brian walking with those two men without Wicker. =A= Just past hangar C, Major.=A= Sam wanted to go get Wicker, because she was sure Brian's dog could sniff him out.

Tallus didn't give Kell a chance to respond, but at least he knew she was with someone who could keep her out of trouble and safe. Right now the priority was the Chief Diplomat. "Where to?" he asked Cara. The others would do a systematic search. He and Cara would head right to the location of the cry out.

All of the telepaths had heard the cry of pain, though only Cara heard the call for help. After the initial mental shout, however, she heard nothing. It was as if a door had been shut and no matter how much she tried, she couldn't open that door.

Cara sent Dev a mental picture of what she had gotten from Brian when he sent the distress call. It was a room in the unused part of the station. Joining up with Dev, she gave him a wan smile ~I'm going to try and contact him again before we move.~ At his nod, she closed her eyes and reached out as strongly as she could to the feeling of pain ~Brian?~

She felt no thought return to her from Brian; it was if he were dead. Even had he been unconscious, she could have picked up on some thought, but it was like hitting an impenetrable wall.

~Hang on love ... We're going coming to get you.~ Cara tried to send him reassurance she didn't quite feel and wouldn't 'til they had him back safely.

=A=Marines, divide into teams. I want coordination with Security. Captain Teague, please meet me at Hangar C.=A= Tallus said, heading there. What had the Commander been doing near Hangar C? There were many questions about this with few answers. "Lieutenant Adanyxia, follow me."

"Acknowledged, we will meet you in five mikes," Adam said as he and his men headed for the Turbolift.

Nyx had no choice, the man outranked her, even if they were both department heads. This was a security issue and she had to surrender authority to those who handled things under such circumstances. "Aye Major." She hissed her acknowledgement but followed as ordered.

Sam was still waiting, holding onto the communicator; as soon as the major got there, she was going to go get Wicker. Why was it when you needed someone they seemed to take forever to get to you? Even though it hadn't been that long, it sure felt like it to Sam.

Just as it seemed all communication with the Chief Diplomatic Officer had been cut off, a brief message was sent directly to Cara's mind. No other telepath could hear it. ~A telepath has me, be careful.~

Then all communication with Brian ceased again.

Cara shook with anger even as she blocked her reaction from everyone, bar Devyn. How dare someone take one of her mates! She blinked at that thought and then shook her head. She could mull that over later; now it was time to hunt down her wayward second mate and the person who had dared to take them ~Ready to go Dev?~ She stepped up behind him.

Kell nodded. "Let's go."

"They made a big mistake taking Brian ...." Cara was growling under her breath as she said this "He's mine."

Tallus arrived at Hangar C with Nyx in tow. "Report," he said to Sam.

Nyx stood defiantly, arms crossed, face wrinkled up into a scowl; with her size, she looked much like an angry little girl. She'd follow orders because this was important but nothing said she had to cooperate any other way.

Samantha offered Tallus the combadge. "This is what I've found, Major," she offered. "Is Commander Windsong missing, major?" she asked.

"We cannot be sure as of yet. However, no telepathic contact can be made with him. And now we know why no verbal contact. =A=All Marine and Starfleet crew members please report any contact with Lt. Cmdr. Windsong to Captain Teague.=A=" Tallus said as the Captain arrived.

"My Marines are on guarding duty. You should have your men go in search for the Commander. Once you get a location contact me and I will join you with a squad of Marine's. Agreed?" Tallus said making sure to not make it an order but a suggestion.

Samantha nodded. "Major, I saw him walking with two crewmen, earlier. I didn't recognize them but I haven't been here long." Then she added. "I'm going to get get Wicker, if Brian..." Sam stopped herself she hadn't known him that long gosh darn it. "If the commander is missing Wicker might be able to pick up his scent." She offered and nodded. "Agreed."

"You should know that the ship's Second Officer and one of the Security Officers have gone off in search of him. Both have a history of," Nyx wasn't sure how to put it and still be politically correct. "Special assignments." She spoke to Sam because she was still too irritated with Tallus.

Sam went, to run to get Wicker. She used the station's computer to get to his cabin and her security access to hack his door. "Wicker, Wicker, come on girl." She called out. When Wicker came out of Brian's room she smirked. "Come on, I need your help finding Brian."

Wicker came up and licked Sam's hand tentatively. As she started to walk beside the woman she growled low in her throat. The growl was not intended for Sam, but for whoever was holding her master.

"I know... let's go find him." She offered.

"You should let me go with them to search." Nyx looked at Tallus. "If he's injured, I'm the CMO. And if they need help - you need to turn of this blasted collar." She was barely being civil. She was angry, she was concerned for Kell and maybe even Cara, and she felt like the leash, as she'd been calling it was growing shorter than ever before.

Tallus gets a thoughtful look in his eye. "Agreed. Go, but I want you to keep in contact. Keep an open mental frequency for me."

Adam nodded to the Major, "Sir, what do you need me to do?"

Ian stayed behind waiting for the delegations to board he hoped Brian is safe but he needed to be here to welcome the Caliburnite Delegation aboard.

"My Marines are on guarding duty. You should have your men go in search for the Commander. Once you get a location contact me and I will join you with a squad of Marines. Agreed?" Tallus said making sure to not make it an order but a suggestion.

"Turn the collar off." Nyx demanded knowing that wouldn't happen. There were too many innocents around that she might injure. She knew she had no control but she had a hard time admitting it when others were in danger. "I can help them."

Fin overheard the conversation between Tallus and Nyx and wished she could help the doctor. The situation wasn't safe for her to do that though. Keeping an ear tuned to their exchange, she looked around for Cmd Patterson.

~Lieutenant Adanyxia, that is all. I gave you permission to search for your friend. If I hear one more outburst like that then you will no longer be a Lieutenant, Do I make myself clear? Tallus said making his anger very known.

Nyx doubted that one angry request would cause her to lose her rank, but she was growing ever closer to insubordination and assault on this man. How dare a Marine threaten a Starfleet Officer, one he had no jurisdiction over, except for that damned device he held. "Go to Hell." She said out loud before taking off to find Kell and the others. She did not keep her mind open to the man. She wasn't good at blocking but she was going to make him work at it just the same.

Tallus took a deep breath. The mental blocks that the Lt. put up were easily broken. He would have to teach her better ones. "I will go attend the welcoming of the other delegation."
