Mikayla Treia looked at the contact number that had taken 6 months to get. Devyn Kell was a hard man to track in his job and she just had to hope that he either knew where her daughter was or that he had her daughter with him. She and her husband knew that if Dev was around then their daughter was at least alive, they just wished she would make contact with them.

Taking a deep breath she opened a comm to Devyn on Starbase Protector hoping he was in his office right now.

Putting down the PADD in his hand, a frustrated Kell tapped his console. "Security."

"Kell? Devyn Kell?" Mikaela stared at her daughters best friend "Is that really you?"

"Mikayla?" He asked confused. There should have been no way for them to find him or trace Cara this far.

"Oh my gods it is you." She collapsed into the seat at the computer "I've been tracking you for months ... There were so many layers over you that I nearly gave up several times thinking you were dead ... please ... Cara ... she isn't ....?"

"Cara is well." He said unsure what he could or should tell her.

"Her father and I have left Earth ... we've called in a few favours from his friends to make it untraceable." Mikayla gave him a pleading look "Is she there? Please Kell ... "

"I - I can't answer that question for you Mikayla. I'm sorry." Devyn couldn't tell if the desperation in the woman's voice was because she was being forced to find her daughter or because she 'needed' to find her. He couldn't risk either. "Come and see me if you like. Maybe we can find her together." He offered. He would be able to tell in person if the woman was seeking her daughter on her own or if parent was being forced to hunt child. It wouldn't be above those who controlled Cara to hunt her this way.

Relieved she gave him a greatful smile "We should be at the station in a week."

"It will be good to see you." He gave his usual brisk Klingon smile.

"You too." She gave him a smile and signed off.
