ON:

Cara had been ushered with Jesse to Tallus' quarters on the marine deck and locked in. that had been an hour ago and while Jesse was napping Cara was feeling restless as it was too much like her captivity.

A Marine came walking in with a PADD. "Colonel Karikkar sends his regards and asks that I retrieve anything from your quarters that you so desire so that you can feel more at ease."

Smiling she made a quick list "Mainly Jesse's stuff and thank you."

"I will see to it personally. Is there anything that you would like me to tell Colonel Karikkar?"

Shaking her head no she said "Just tell him we've settled in and perimeter secure." He didn't need to worry about her being antsy.

"Understood. I will return shortly." The Marine said as he left the quarters leaving Cara and Jesse alone.

Nodding she went back to pacing not seeing his concerned look. Finally she took a few deep breaths and started to let her curiosity out. This would be a chance to get to know the man she would be mated to a little without all the awkward pauses that she had been feeling as she felt her way into the relationship.

Starting with the main rooms she looked at each of the photo's he had scattered around the room, spending a long time looking at the photo's of what she guessed to be his deceased wife and the children they had had together. Smiling at how happy they looked in the photos she couldn't help grinning at the impish look that Meriour had even when he was trying to look well behaved for the more formal photo with the whole family, she had to admit that even knowing that he had adopted an Hirogen and a Talaxian it was a surprise to see them in a formal looking Vulcan picture and that made her feel more comfortable that his family would accept her and Jess.

Glancing at other photos around the room she could see how he was similar to her really, all the photos she had with her were of family and friends she had made including one with her and Dev and a couple of friends on a night out after a successful mission. She could also see one of his graduating class peeking out from behind what looked similar to an earth cactus.

Looking at the table in the lounge she could see a Kal To set and wondered if she could talk him into teaching her. Peeking in doors she found a masculine looking bathroom all in muted earthy brown and green colours and the spare bedroom that Jess was sleeping in. Finally taking another steadying breath she peeked into his bedroom seeing a large comfortable looking bed covered in red bedsheets and duvet cover. She smiled relaxing fully knowing that they at least had similar tastes ... they could make this work.

Going back out she turned on some of his music at a low level and started getting some food ready for the three of them. One of the few things she could cook without killing it was post roast and she lost herself in the process.

Tallus came in the room to see Cara looking around. "Find everything to your liking?"

Cara nodded with a shy smile "Hope you like pot roast."

"Pot roast?" Tallus said intrigued. "Your already cooking?"

"It helps calm me ... I'm limited in what I can cook so far but ... I hoped you'd like something homemade." She was feeling more relaxed but quite shy round him.

"As a matter of fact I would love something homemade." Tallus said with a smile.

"Great." She went to smile and ended up doubled over in agony biting back a groan.

Tallus leaped to Cara side and helped her to a chair. "Are you alright?"

Shaking her head Cara managed to get out "N ... not sure ... hurts ... The need hurts ..."

"I knew something like this was going to happen." Tallus said going to the replicator. 'Computer give me the sustenance Karikkar364.'

'Unable to replicate. Medical authorization of Chief Medical Officer required.'

"Bath'paik!" Tallus yelled in Vulcan as he turned to Cara. "I need to get you to sick-bay. Follow me closely."

Nodding she took slow breaths as she stood and followed him on autopilot as her brain became a little foggy.

Tallus made his way out of his quarters as the Marine on duty guarding the quarters went to attention. "At ease. Remain here until I return."

"Understood sir." The Marine said with a nod.

Tallus lead the way to the turbolift and ordered it to sick-bay.
