Location: Security Offices
Jorrel stepped out of the turbolift and watched the Comm panels on the side of the walls, wanting to make sure he didn't get lost. It was another stop on his whirlwind tour of the station and another department head he would be working closely with on the defense of the station. Except, he would definitely know more about this department, having trained in it for years.
Which meant he finally felt comfortable entering into a general department area (which definitely included his own). "Hello," he said to a passing security officer, "I'm looking for Commander Kell?"
"Behind you." The voice came from behind the man. "How can I help you." He offered the man his hand.
"Commander," Jorrel said taking the hand. "I'm Lieutenant Jorrel, new Tactical and Strategic Operations chief, pleased to meet you. I hope you have a few minutes where we can have a bit of a chat? About how should work together to keep the station running smoothly and safely."
"Yea, sure. Come on in." Devyn could use the distraction from his issues with Nyx and the help with the station. "We can sit in my office and talk. The replicator makes a mean Raktajino." He smiled.
"Thanks, Commander," Jorrel said as he followd the man to the office and then, risking it, took a seat. The chair creaked, but didn't immediately show signs of collapsing. That was a good thing. "I'm pretty new to the entire concept and department. I come from a Marine and Security background. So, to let you know, I've come with sixteen highly trained security specialists that are at your general disposal as you may need."
"That would be appreciated, Lieutenant." Kell gave a genuine smile of gratitude. "They can get with my assistant, Lieutenant T'Sai. She'll get them orientated to security here and make schedule assignments." He walked toward the replicator. "You don't know how short handed I am and how much I appreciate this." He was still thanking the man. "Care for a drink? I can't offer Romulan ale but I do have some very good Rigellian Brandy that isn't synthesized.
"Sorry," Jorrel said, "never on duty. It's not a problem. I thought my posting here was for security related matters in the first place. My entire team is trained for security, advanced tactical measures usually. So, as long as they're not needed in Tactical or StratOps, feel free to call on them."
Jorrel was reminded of something else. "I know I've just met you, Commander, and this may be a bit forward but...could I ask a favor of you? I have a guy, part of my team and a really good guy. His wife is security as well and she's been trying to get a transfer to the base. I wouldn't normally ask to have a department head look into matters like this but, well, they have a small child - my 'nephew' really, and...well, it'd help out a bunch if the family were together again."
"I'll see what I can do. I wouldn't want families separated." Kell nodded. The thought of being away from Nyx and his child here on base was unpleasant enough at the moment. He couldn't imagine being separated by light years of space.
"That'd be great, thank you," Jorrel said, smiling. "You won't regret it either. She's a great security officer and will be a complete asset to your department. She's just really, really awesome."
Kell rolled his eyes. "I'm already sold and you're trying to hard."
"Ah, sorry," Jorrel said. "So, I guess I'll just wait to hear from you if you have need of anything, then?"
"The loan of your men is greatly appreciated. I'll have my shift schedules sent to you so you can fill in the shifts as you know your men better than me."
"Yes, sir," Jorrel said, "that'd be fine. Thanks for all your help. If there is anything more, I'll be glad to do what I can. If not, I'm sorry to fun off but I've got a full schedule going on. The Colonel just dropped two ships onto me."
"No, thank you." Devyn stood to shake the man's hand again. "You don't know how much this will help."
Jorrel smiled, "Both of us, I think." He turned and found his way out the door, headed back toward his office to begin obtaining data on the ships.
Devyn smiled as the man left and then went back to his work.
