Mission: http://sb109.sim-station.net/index.php/sim/missions/id/2
Location: Xavier's Quarters
Timeline: Current

Xavier stood on top of a building, a strange building. He knew exactly what it was meant to be but it felt wrong, this was a Terran building, no this was an old Terran building. Xavier looked around, first to the left and then to the right, it only confirmed his suspicions. He was some how back in the past, possibly the late twentieth century, and standing on top of a very tall building. He was sure these kind of structures had a name; Cloud Catchers or Wind Watchers or something like that, all that mattered was that he was here and he was fairly sure he wasn't meant to be. Was he?

Xavier roamed around the rooftop but left himself a wide birth between himself and the edge. It's not that he was afraid he was going to fall off, it was near enough impossible with the protective wall, he just didn't want to be able to see all the way down. He had never been afraid of heights before, but now he was, just like now he was here. Both concepts completely irrational, but both entirely true. There was no clues on the rooftop and he was entirely alone.

Before Xavier could contemplate his predicament further the skies darkened and the clouds grew thick. He hadn't noticed the weather before, however it was impossible not to now, the thunder boomed and the lightening flashed with such ferocity, Xavier wondered if he was safe here, back in time, in the middle of an empty rooftop. There was no gap between the flash and the boom which meant the storm was right overhead. As Xavier looked up he noticed that the storm wasn't only overhead this city, but seemed directly overhead him, on this very building. Could storms be that localised? Even as he watched, the clouds only seemed to swirl above his rooftop and though the lightening flashed more and more intensely, no rain fell.

Just as Xavier had decided to try and get cover, maybe ride this thing out, a figure came hurtling out of the sky dropping onto the roof. No, the figure wasn't coming out of the sky, it was coming out of the storm and it wasn't dropping it was descending, slowly. Xavier stood mystified as the man finally touched down. He was surrounded by an aura of red, Xavier wasn't quite sure what that meant but he knew it was something important, and he was also swinging something with his right arm. Xavier couldn't help but notice how beautiful the man was, it was almost God-like. Long blond hair that cascaded in waves to his shoulders, piercing blue eyes that intensified with every lightening strike and a jaw line any man would die for. Not to mention his bigger than big frame that rippled with muscle and masculinity. As the stranger came to a halt, Xavier could see he was wearing armor that left his arms exposed and the thing in his right arm was some kind of stone tool, a hammer maybe?

Xavier stood his ground, some how knowing this man wasn't going to hurt him. Quite the contrary in fact, now that the Lightening God was here, Xavier felt quite safe. The two men moved towards each other, all the time not breaking eye contact. They stopped, inches apart and the stranger held out his right hand. Xavier could see the hammer more clearly now. It was marked, quite decorative in fact, and the raw power coming off of it was unbelievable. Even without touching the weapon, Xavier knew it wasn't a force to be reckoned with.

They stared at each other for some time before either of them had the courage to speak and it was the stranger who went first. But when he spoke his voice didn't sound right, it was as if he was being dubbed for some reason and though he hadn't heard the words quite clearly, Xavier was certain they hadn't made much sense. Xavier looked confused and so the stranger repeated himself and this time Xavier was certain something was wrong. His voice was metallic and rather feminine but also extremely familiar despite the two of them never meeting before.

"What?!" Xavier asked, his manners all but forgotten.

"Subspace transmission for Ensign Lee."

Xavier concentrated on the words and as he did the rooftop began to melt away. It was as though someone had pulled the plug in the bath, the rooftop, the weather, the weapon, the man... they all started to blur and the colours started to run together and all that was left in its place was the inside of his quarters aboard the Federation space station Protector. It took Xavier's mind a few seconds to catch up with what his senses already knew, there was no rooftop, no lightening and no gorgeous God with a massive tool. Xavier all but groaned as the computer repeated its message.

"Time?" Xavier asked, knowing that whatever the answer, he wasn't going to like it.

"0336," came the reply.

Xavier groaned again, there was only one person who'd be calling him at this time of the morning...
