cara needs relationship advice

Cara needed to talk to someone and fast and the best option she had was Dev. She needed a sane person to give her some advice.

Knocking on the door to his new office she peeked in "Dev?"

"Hey Cara, come in." He smiled. "What's up?"

"Wondered if you had time to talk?"

"Sure, for you I always have time." He grinned. "Come on in and take a seat." He moved a handful of PADDs out of the way.

Sitting down and pulliing her legs under her on the seat she gave him a smile. "I needed someone to talk to and as part of it is about Brian and part about Tallus you were the person to talk to."

"Don't know much about Brian and not sure how much I want to know about Tallus...Nyx isn't very fond of him." He got up and replicated two hot chocolates. Handing one to Cara he sat down. "So what's up in Caraville?" He'd always been there for Cara's love life debacles so this wouldn't be much different. He was sure there had been some spark with Brian but he didn't get what Tallus had to do with it.

She took a sip of the chocolate "Caraville is in upheaval territory ... I Like Brian ... but ... I ... It feels more like I feel for you ... like a brother or pack member ... I mean the sex was amazing ... but." She shrugged.

"Great sex isn't love or passion," He agreed with a nod of his head. "All the women I was with getting to this point and never the spark that I get with Nyx."

She nodded "Sex only gets you so far ... and ... I want something like you have with Nyx ... the good and the bad."

Devyn laughed. "So don't settle then. Find the one who makes the sparks for you." He shrugged.

"Thats the problem ... the guy I like Nyx may lynch me for."

"You and she hardly know each other..." He shook his head. "Although she may lynch me for it if we remain friends and you actually date the Marine Major." He laughed. "But I can handle her." He winked. "Tallus feel the same way about you?"

"Dont know ... and to be honest ... whatever they did to me my system is in an upheaval at the moment. I cant settle to anything or focus and I feel like Im in fight mode all the time."

"I can understand being on edge after what happened. You're close to Brian and this guy is still out there." He opened his drawer and pulled out a bottle. Pouring a little bit in his glass, he offered some to Cara as well. "Takes the edge off." he grinned.

Taking a swallow she coughed at the burn as it went down. Gasping she said "Woah ..."

Devyn laughed. "I forgot you couldn't hold your liquor".

She poked her tongue out at him "Can too ... synthahol anyway."

"That's why I mix mine in the hot chocolate." He shook his head as he dumped it into his cup.

Doing the same she sipped with a happy smile "Much better ... Her system relaxed a little knowing Dev was no threat and was pack. "Brian wants to go after Kale and his traitorous brother himself ..."

"I don't know if I can allow that. As Chief of Security, his safety is my business." Devyn shook his head. "It would be foolish."

"I agree ... I told him that I would help ... and I figured you would too. Hell half the base probably wants a piece of them by now." She laughed relaxing a little more "So you dont think Im crazy seeing if the only Vulcan on the station to piss off Nyx is interested?" She found Tallus fascinating.

"That my friend, is your call." He chuckled. "Not sure how much fun I'll have over it but I'd never stop you from finding happiness."

She grinned "Cool ... and you can always hide in my quarters while Nyx is mad."
