Mission: http://sb109.sim-station.net/index.php/sim/missions/id/2
Location: Marine Commander's Office
Timeline: Before the delegates arrive

ON:

Tallus had just gotten back from the meeting. It had given him the chance to see the interactions of them when they are in the same room. They all reacted to him as he had expected them too. Tallus did seem arrogant and self-serving. But only because that is what he wanted everyone to know him like. In time he would show them his true personality. One of the Starfleet crew members did not seem to like him more then the others. It was this person that he had business with.

=A=Lieutenant Adanyxia please report to the Marine Commander's Officer immediately.=A= Tallus said over the COMM line. He wanted to get to know the Lieutenant before the delegates arrived.

Rolling her eyes, Nyx wondered what the man could possibly have to say to her that he didn't bring up at the briefing. She deliberately didn't respond and took her time heading toward the Marine offices.

Upon arrival, she checked in with the NCO posted at the desk. "Will you please let your commander know that I'm here as per his request and let him know that I have more important things to be doing besides answering to his beck and call." She took a seat before being told to do so and waited on the Major.

The NCO came in and told Tallus that the Lieutenant was here. Tallus wasn't a rude man. But the pure hatred that the Lieutenant had for him made him react. He nodded to the NCO and then waited a good ten minutes before calling the Lieutenant in. He knew that she would still be waiting because he was higher rank.

Nyx waited a few minutes but when her patience was gone, she stood to leave. "Tell the Major if he needs me, he'll find me in Sick Bay. I actually have patients to tend to." As she was walking out the door, she heard him call for her. She contemplated ignoring the man but a vision of Kell popped into her mind. He was glaring at her and pointing to the door behind her. Rolling her eyes, she turned around and headed back into the office. She took a deep breath as she got to the door and seeing the smugness on the man's face wanted to scream.

"So Major, invade anyone's thoughts lately?" She asked as she walked into the room. The office suited him. It was clean, organized and 100% in order, very spartan in appearance with sharp chrome and glass furnishings. She wasn't sure if it was the Vulcan or the Marine. She had to admit the man had taste. "You wanted to see me?"

"Adanyxia or Nyx. Species Chameloid. Rank Lieutenant. Position Chief Medical Officer. Very obviously antagonistic toward me. What I am still trying to decide is if it is because of my Marine standing or if it is racial. For whatever reason I do not care. And I do not invade people's minds. I only detect thoughts directly about me or people I am watching or guarding. Tell me about your other persona. The thing that your collar prohibits from appearing." Tallus said knowing all about it.

He had read every report. When Tallus was a young boy he had heard of Chameloid's. They were rare to come by. When Tallus was in his nineties he had heard about a young cadet that was a Chameloid. He had been watching her progress very closely since then. It wasn't until now that he was finally able to arrive at the same posting with her.

"Wow someone has his radar set at Nyx." She wasn't impressed; as a matter of fact it was a little annoying. "My parents used Adanyxia to scold me so I'd prefer Nyx or Lieutenant if you insist on propriety. I have trust issues with Marines and with Vulcans though I try not to hold it against either. You just happen to be both and I didn't care for you barging into my thoughts." She wondered about the inquiry into her alter ego. Sitting down, she eyed the man trying to gauge his reasoning.

As for my alternate persona, it's very similar to the legendary creature from Earth, the Lycanthrope however more bearish than wolfish. My people, from what I've been told and remember, shift only during battle and harm only their enemies but that takes years of training to learn." She shifted in her seat not sure why she was answering this man but glad for the opportunity to speak openly about it. And it was easy to be angry in his presence even if she weren't truly angry at him. She couldn't very well blame him for her circumstances but it would be nice to have a scapegoat. Since he was there and arrogant enough to handle it, why shouldn't she.

"My parents were killed in a shuttle accident on one of Risa's moons and I was orphaned. So I never received the training necessary to control my 'warrior' like most children. Your Vulcan Institute of Science created a means of controlling my creature by prohibiting me from shifting." She looked at the man. "They created my 'collar' as you so politely referred to it." She sat forward, "And your Marine friends, created the leash that controls it."

Tallus reached into his desk and pulled out a remote. "Yes, I was contacted about that. It is after all my design of a remote. But it was originally used for controlling the output of a weapon's power. Quite a more efficient use I must say."

Nyx felt like she would vomit. "And you got that from the Colonel? I suppose no Marine keeps his promise then." She wondered why the Colonel would betray her after promising nobody would have access to it except himself and Nyx.

"I am the Marine Commanding Officer. It is best kept in my care. That and I have plans. Plans that will assist the ship." Tallus said curtly.

Nyx's eyes widened. She felt like jumping from the chair and running. Her eyes closed slowly as the horror struck her. "And how do you intend on using me?" She asked dryly. If she could have shifted then and there, she would have.

"I hope to teach you. I have a friend. He has a similar thing that happens to him. He does not have the luxury of this...collar." Tallus said with disgust looking at the collar and remote. "He learned his lesson after killing almost his whole squad. I want to help you to control this thing so that it is up to you to do what you want to. Not some Marine Commander. Aren't you done being a lab rat? Letting someone have total control over you?" Tallus said still with disgust in his voice.

"You mean a Marine Commander other than yourself?" She asked. She had no intention of believing what this man was saying. "Then give me the device and let me practice so I can learn." She glared at him waiting for a response. "Kell can help me and I won't harm any of your precious Marines in the process."

"I am not going to give you the remote. I will train you. And there is absolutely no chance that you can harm my Marine's. I have my own holodeck that's used for their training that I will train you in. This is not a request Lieutenant. This is an order. Colonel Drake would not have given me this thing if he did not feel that it was right for me to attain it. And that is the end of it. You can go about your normal duties but when I call you, you must come. Understood?" Tallus said standing up. Nyx would cooperate whether she wanted to or not.

"For now, because you give me no choice. However, you've not heard the last of this. I assure you." She hissed at the man. "Don't tug too tightly at my leash Major, even the most docile of dogs will bite when provoked." she warned him as she tried to fight back her angry tears.

"That is all Lieutenant. You are dismissed." Tallus said sitting down and turning in his chair returning to his PADD.

"Arrogant Bastard." She said it loud enough for him to hear as she walked out the door. ~I hope I tear your head off.~ She knew he'd hear the words she felt him in her mind. She headed toward the lounge. She needed a drink..or two...or three.

Tallus nodded his head at the comment. He fully expected her to be very resistant at first. But eventually she would learn.
