Mission: http://sb109.sim-station.net/index.php/sim/missions/id/2
Location: Orchids & Jazz, Deck 400
Timeline: TBD, 0120

The owner of Orchids & Jazz looked at Lieutenant Kell instead of the body draped over her table. She thought about telling him she had to check on her customers still downstairs, but instead, she said, "I've had the doorman lock the doors and those who were here when I discovered the body won't be leaving until you say they can. Kez'Dek is very good at what he does."

"The Klingon? Yes. I'm sure he is," Kell nodded. He knew quite well how effective Klingons could be. "If we could get a list of everyone that's down there, we could probably let them go to their quarters." He paused for a moment. "I'll need the name of the server that worked this table as well."

"The server tonight would have been Jenna, I'm sure," Jade replied. "I'll ask her to wait, if you like, and then get Reon and Kez'Dek started taking information. Is there anything else I can do for you? A cup of Hawaiian Kona coffee, perhaps? It only takes minutes to brew from the beans."

"Mmm add cream and light sugar to that and you've sold me," he smiled. "Thank you for your cooperation. I'm going to look around and take some notes and some pictures. I shouldn't be too long."

"I'll have that for you in a few minutes. If there's anything else we can do to help you, let us know," Jade said before descending the stairs to the main floor of the club.

Adam stepped into the lounge and looked around, spotting the Lieutenant and whom he guessed was the establishment's owner. "Lieutenant Kell, good morning," he said as he placed a hand on the man's shoulder. "Have you had time to examine the body yet?"

"Good Morning sir." Kell stood to speak to the man. The Marine was a tall man who looked like a typical hard ass but Kell's empathic intuition said that he was a good man who cared about his men and his job. At 6'4" Kell towered over even him. None the less, the man deserved his respect and Kell was going to give it. "I've done a preliminary examination of the room. The coroner is with the body now." He looked over at the man. "There were no apparent signs of any struggle. The man must have known his assailant or at least didn't suspect anything. The owner, Jade Lantz, is getting us a list of the staff and guests and I'm going to speak to Jenna. She was the server in the loft tonight." He gave the man the information he'd gathered.

Adam nodded and looked up at the man, "That's a reasonable theory. Do we have any form of Identification on the individual? Is it possible that this was a crime of passion, or perhaps a robbery gone wrong?"

"Standard Federation ID but it's a forgery." Kell shook his head and handed it to his boss. Man's ID says he's Jensen Paris, human aged 47, but I can't be sure if anything on it is the truth. The man is an inconspicuous as they come...someone nobody would notice coming or going." Kell kept going. "He ordered three Barzan Brandies and the house special for dinner. Kept to himself. If we get anything else from the server, I'll let you know."

Adam nodded, "Someone who wouldn't attract too much attention, wouldn't be distinguishable from Joe and Mary. Hmmm... I suspect there may be a lot more to this man than meets the eye. Look through any and all Federation channels, especially the Special Operations divisions. We may have a ghost on our hands."

As Jenna made her way up the steps, she could hear the murmur of two men talking. Her steps lagged, because she was not anxious to be near anything dead. Her religious beliefs demanded that the dead be avoided, but her employment dictated that she talk to at least one of the men in the loft. At the top, she moved to the railing overlooking the first level, leaning back against it for support. She averted her eyes from the area where she knew the body could be found, and tried not to take deep breaths. While she waited to be noticed, she went back over her interaction with everyone on the loft level this evening. She knew she'd be questioned, and she didn't even know which customer was dead.

Seeing the woman, Devyn moved over toward her. He offered her hand after he ungloved. "Devyn Kell, you must be Jenna?" he asked. It was a redundant question as nobody else would have been allowed up the stairs. He could feel her agitation at being up there. "Would you like to step over here, out the area a little bit?" he asked wanting her to be comfortable.

The server nodded, grateful for the man's suggestion. "Maybe even go back downstairs?" she asked hopefully. "It's hard to think up here. But . . . I don't know which customer is . . . ." Her eyes slid to the back table and skittered off again. "Well, you know." She'd worked for Jade for a long time, followed her from base to base to starship and now back to a base. Never had there been this kind of trouble before.

Devyn nodded. "I do have to ask that we stay up here," he shrugged, "My crime scene and all, but I won't make you come look," he smiled. "Here." He held out the man's ID. "Do you recognize this man?" He deliberately covered the name in case the man used an alias. He didn't want her memory clouded by false information.
