Zhara walked into the medical center and smiled at the nurse on duty. "I would like to speak with the doctor, please."

Nyx was looking over the files of her last two patients while Suri napped in the corner in a baby hammock when she saw the Counselor come in. She took a quick peek at her sleeping child before stepping out of her office. "I'm Doctor Nyx." She smiled when she heard the woman ask the nurse after her.

"Hello, doctor!" Zhara said, giving the woman a bright smile. "I am Zhara, the new counselor." She bowed. "As we will be working together from time, I wished fur us to meet." She looked the doctor over. "I am also in need of my physical -- although I assure you I am in fine health."

Nyx smiled. "I'm sure you are in fine health." She picked up a Data tablet and typed in a few notes. "We can do your physical now if you like or we can make an appointment at another time. Whichever is convenient for you."

"Let's do it now. Then if anyone asks I can assure them I'm compliant." Then she grinned. "And we can have a chat at the same time."

Nyx took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "Okay, let's set you up on bio bed two. I'll grab a medical scanner and be right over." She smiled as she walked to the desk to get her trichorder. "Did you come in with the new CO?" She asked curiously. Some officers preferred certain staff members of their own choosing.

"No. I only arrived today," she said. "I met him for the first time earlier. today. He seems like a nice enough man. What do you think of him?" she asked, wanting the doctor's opinion of their commanding officer.

"He seems like an upright man." Nyx said careful of the words she chose. "I believe he is trustworthy and he comes off as just. My basic instincts tell me he is honorable - but I've been wrong before." She meant her animal instincts. She didn't get to touch the man so she wasn't sure. Besides, she hadn't learned to trust her own feelings quite yet.

Zhara nodded. "Indeed. My first impression of him is quite good. I'm glad you are of a like mind on this." She trusted her own instincts, but sometimes it was good to get a second opinion. Especially from a medical doctor.

"I've always believed that I should give my loyalties until I'm proven wrong. If he keeps to his word, I think he'll be successful here on Protector." Nyx shrugged. "And Devyn trusts him and I trust Devyn."

Zhara nodded. "Excellent. What do you think of the Starbase as a whole?"

"It's old and needs some work but I think of it as home so I'm pretty comfortable here." Nyx smiled.

"There is much to be said for comfortable," Zhara agreed. "So, am I in fine health?"

"You look to be in very good health." Nyx put down the scanner. "When did you break your leg?" It was an old fracture but Nyx wanted to be thorough.

"I don't recall exactly," Zhara said with a wave of her hand to indicate that it wasn't important. "I was helping my mother move tapestries. Someone wasn't paying attention to what he was doing and hit a stack of tapestry rolls. I had the misfortune of being near them at the time. The leg was repaired and fortunately none of the tapestries were damaged."

"So it was in your childhood." Nyx made a note. "Any old injuries that I should be aware of?" Some injuries left no residue or scarring and Nyx wanted as complete a report on her patients as she could gather.

"Not in my childhood," Zhara amended. "Maybe a decade ago." She thought for a moment. "Injuries? Yes. Many. I was a curious child. I do not remember most of them."

"Well, it looks as though we're through here then. I see no issues or illnesses, your scans are fine and everything is functioning within normal parameters." She set her instruments down and smiled. "Do you have any questions or concerns for me Counselor?" She asked.

"Zhara, please," she urged. "No, I have no questions right now. But if I do, I will come find you." She gave the woman a bright smile. "And you can come see me if you have any needs as well."

"I'll do that." Nyx nodded. "But I have no problems right now." She'd kept her anxiety and nightmares to herself figuring she wouldn't need any help getting over the trauma she'd been through before Suri had been born. After all she had Devyn. "Enjoy the rest of your day - Zhara."

Zhara knew she wasn't telling the truth, but she wasn't going to question the doctor right now. Everyone had a right to a few secrets -- as long as it didn't affect their performance at work. And from what Zhara saw so far, it looked like Nyx was doing fine. So she would take the comment at face value until something changed.

"I shall. And you as well. Take time to enjoy yourself." Zhara bowed to the other woman and departed, intent on doing some exploring.
