Jorrel didn't plan to stop by and bug the Operations Chief on his first day on the station, but since he was in the area, he decided not to waste the opportunity. He might not get another chance for some time, considering the pile of work he had on his plate. More than ever he was glad that his unit was assigned him with him. Aside from Bhen and Warren, he had nine others he knew he could count on. he was sure, however, that when he started meeting the rest of his personnel he'd find them just as dedicated and competent as the men he'd served years with. Possibly more so since they'd already know the station and area and what was going on.

Their knowledge and experience was definitely something he'd be counting on in the next few days, weeks, years.

"Hello?" he called out, "Lieutenant Lee?"

Xavier was still trying to figure out the mystery of Section 49 Alpha, which meant pouring over data and reports until they were coming out of his ears. It had been a long few days and something told him it was only going to get harder. He cradled his cup of coffee as he re-read the same paragraph for the fourth time, his brain obviously not wanting to take the data in.

When he heard the unfamiliar voice in the foyer to the Operations department, he went over to greet whomever it was who needed him. He was startled by the blond mammoth in front of him. Xavier had always considered himself tall but this guy towered over him, something the young Betazoid wasn't used to.

"Yes, can I help you, Lieutenant?" He added noticing the stranger's rank.

"Lieutenant Lee?" Jorrel said as he crossed the space between them, holding out a hand in greeting. "I'm Lieutenant Jorrel, Tactical and Strategic Operations. Just arrived today and, well, I'm sorry to be bothering you so soon, Lieutenant, but I've got a few requests to bring over to your department. The first, least and certainly lowest priority concerning furniture to the more important, the Renown and Indefatigable. I've spoken to the Colonel and he wants them put into service as soon as we possibly can. More important, I would think is the Renown."

"Pleasure to meet you," Xavier said as he shook the man's hand. Xavier had forgotten it was busy-as-usual, despite all the disruptions and the investigation, he still had a responsibility to the station and its support ships. "I hadn't even given them a moment's thought," he admitted honestly as he ran his hand through his short hair. "I don't even remember the status of the ships. Sorry I'm not normally so distracted, but a lot has happened over the past few days."

"That's okay, apparently those ships have been mothballed for far too long. I'm going to tour them later and start compiling what I can see of their needs. Though, hopefully, we won't have need of a warship for anything but ceremonial escort duty. But when it comes time for the work, I'll try to help out with the manpower on that as well if the docks are busy with other ships." He checked his PADD.

"About furniture," he said, "I'm a lot heavier than I look."

Xavier felt guilty that he wasn't more up to scratch on the status of the station's two standby vessels. All he could remember was that the Indefatigable was a defiant-class ship and the Renown was an oberth-class, or was that the other way round. He felt as though his head was about to explode, too much information and not enough hours in the day. "Maybe we could tour the ships together? Clearly I need a bit of a refresher," he added with a grin.

Xavier was confused by Thomas' last comment. "Do you need your furniture reinforced?"

"And made slightly larger?" Jorrel asked, "though that's really just a luxury, reinforcing would be adequate. I don't want to have to keep asking for new furniture all the time because it keeps breaking. Just a few things in my quarters, in the office and conference room. Whatever you can, really, just a couch or chair for my quarters should be okay."

He smiled. "I'm sorry to be a pest about this," he said. "But I would appreciate it and it would keep me from bothering you on a more constant basis. I'd also welcome you on the tour of the ships, this way we can both be on the same page about what's the priority in getting them ready to go."

Xavier smiled, "It's no problem at all, I can imagine what a hassle it must be constantly breaking things. If you let me know when you're free to tour the ships then I will make time to do so, like you said being on the same page is quite a good idea. As for your quarters, I will get someone on it as soon as possible."

Jorrel grinned, "Thank you! Sure would be appreciated but, again, Lieutenant, no rush on it. With a station this size you must be busy. I'll do my best to keep from breaking anything in the meantime. I was thinking of looking at the ships after lunch but before the end of shift. About 1500 hours good for you?"

"Yeah that sounds great," Xavier said without checking his schedule. He didn't really care what else he had on for the rest of the day, doing something that didn't involve this damn investigating and Section 49 Alpha was very appealing at the moment.

"Alright then," Jorrel said. "Sounds good to me, see you at 1500?"

"Great," Xavier answered.

"Alright then," Jorrel said. "I'll see you then." He checked his list for where he needed to go next. Diplo Offices, but that could wait until after lunch. Marines. That's where he was going to go. "If you'll excuse me, I've got a couple hundred decks to cover." He smiled as he turned around and headed out for the nearest turbolift.
