Mission: http://sb109.sim-station.net/index.php/sim/missions/id/3
Location: Tallus' Quarters
Timeline: (set after Plans)

Cara walked down the corridor with Tallus occasionally looking over at him and looking like she wanted to ask a question before closing her mouth and looking back at the direction they were going in. "How do we hide this from Dobbs?"

"It is none of Dobbs' concern. I do not care of he is a Captain. He is not our CO. Next to him me and you are the highest power on this station. Have no fear." Tallus said matter-of-factly.

Cara nodded again "You ok taking on Jessie as well?"

"I have raised three Vulcan children, one Hirogen, and one Talaxian. A Human child will be easy." Tallus said smiling.

"True. Jessie is a good kid she just is more like a Vulcan in strength and mentally than human. They did to her invitro what they tried first on me. She's extremely smart too."

"That is always good." Tallus said smiling.

"I'll remind you of that when we get called into parent teacher meetings because she got revenge on some bully." She smiled back.

"I'm a Marine. Moreso I raised an Hirogen. That was a light PTC." Tallus said with a smile.

She laughed the sound echoing down the corridor musically "just don't tell our imp that ... she'll decide she has to compete."

"No worries, I will not." Tallus said with a laugh.

Cara wasn't quite sure how to go about the whole process of them bonding but figured food was always a good start and Jessie was with her aunt and Uncle so she asked "Dinner?"

"Dinner would be good. My quarters, say 1900 hours?" Tallus said with a smile.

"Sounds perfect ... Want me to bring anything?"

"Yourself." Tallus said smiling.

Cara smiled back "I'll see you at 1900 hours."

"Indeed." Tallus said with a smile.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not sure how to dress Cara had chosen a cross between Vulcan and Betazoid in the dress she was wearing. it had a high collar like the old earth Chinese dresses with an almost wrap around look and a single piece of embroidery in the shape of a dragon on the front.
Tallus dressed in his formal Vulcan garb. He wore his Vulcan Master necklace. With his quarter's set up in such a way that any image could be projected.
Chiming Tallus' door she waited with a smile.
Tallus took a deep breath and opened his door. He was awestruck at what he saw.
Swallowing nervously Cara stood in the doorway "Hi." She looked down feeling shy.
"Please, come in." Tallus said motioning.
Walking in past him she relaxed slowly as she took slow breaths and looked around smiling at all the candle light.
"That's just the beginning." Tallus said going over to a panel. Tapping a few buttons the whole room changed. There was a whole galaxy around them.
Gasping she spun fascinated and trying to take it all in. "It's ... Incredible."
Tallus smiled with true pleasure.
"How did you know I love stars ... It kept me sane during that three months."
"It seems to be a pretty common like. Its what got me through my training." Tallus said. It had been a long time since he had had someone to share himself with. Even given the age difference between Cara and Tallus.
"I always wanted to visit every star." she wondered if he would find the age gap too big and hoped not.
"That would take a very long time." Tallus said moving a chair out for her.
She nodded smiling as she sat "Time is apparently something I have now."
"Time is something that is not to be taken advantage of." Tallus said nodding.
Nodding she asked curiously "Do you mind the age difference?"
"I am a Vulcan. But more so I am a highly advanced Vulcan. I do not know how long I will live. Typical Vulcan's live for 200 years. I have a friend that is 219 years old. Good old T'Vek." Tallus said chuckling to himself. "But I see no reason that I should have to suffer loneliness for the rest of my life. There is an old Terran saying. 'Age is just a number'. So long as I am not being in a relationship with someone underage then I am fine. does it bother you?"
Cara shook her head no "Not at all to be honest."
"That is good." Tallus said offering the chair again.
Siting down in the offered chair she kissed him gently on the cheek in thanks. "Whats your thoughts on punishment with children?" Cara preferred to take away privileges as opposed to physical.
"Stern but gentle. No physical contact but rules must be obeyed." Tallus said going to the replicator ordering up dinner.
Cara nodded as she fully relaxed relieved that their beliefs matched. "Shouldn't be too much of an adjustment for Jesse ... She has chores and privileges and looses privileges for misbehavior."
"Indeed. When you raise an Hirogen they tend to be a little more wild. Schooling was nigh impossible. When his mother died he was just a teenager. It was especially hard for him as they were very close. But Meriour's a fighter pilot now. A good man too. Rylax is a Flight Control Officer and a damned good one too." Tallus said proudly. "All my children are great men or women."
"They had a good role model in you." Cara blushed saying it.
"Well thank you. I only do my best." Tallus said bringing forward the food.
Cara used the excuse of looking at the meal to hide the fact she was biting her lip nervously not sure how to act around Tallus as her hormones seemed a little out of kilter.
Tallus looked at Cara with concern. "Cara, you need to know that I will be here for you no matter what you need."
Blushing Cara squirmed "Everything feels out of control. My hormones are screaming at me to jump you but .... I'm not like that normally." Her emotions were scaring her.
Tallus gave a very hearty laugh.
She raised an eyebrow at him.
"I apologize. I've just never heard it described quite that way." Tallus said after calming down.
Cara chuckled softly "It's fine I just wasn't expecting that reaction ... I ... I don't know if I'm ready to ... mate with you ... I want to but I also want to get to know you a bit and let Jesse get to know you."
"Well I am in complete agreement with you there. However, the thing about the Pon Farr is that it is not so patient. But if you can find the ability to resist it then I give you congratulations. It took me years to learn. And there are few who still can." Tallus said as he began eating.
Beginning to eat herself Cara said "Its not so bad at the moment ... I can ignore it. I'm a marine and did special ops if I cant control this at least for a while then I shouldn't call myself either." She hoped he understood what she meant and didn't take offense, but her hormones shouldn't rule her she should have at least some control over them.
"Naturally. But eventually you will not be able to resist any longer. Be that an hour or years from now. I cannot tell you as I do not move to know all about the Pon Farr." Tallus said with a slight smile.
Chuckling she admitted "I doubt I'll last years ... but a week or two would be good ... From what I understand there are often repercussions to Pon Farr of a .. uh ... baby nature?"
"If you mean that curiously Vulcan children are often born within 7 years of each other, well, I have no idea what you mean." Tallus said letting his smile grow larger.
"Uh huh ... sure ..." She grinned back "How would you feel if ... something along those lines was to mysteriously occur here?"
"Well, we would both take it one step at a time." Tallus said nodding his head.
"So take the time to get to know each other a bit ... as long as i can manage?"
"That is all that anyone can hope for." Tallus said with a smile.
She smiled back "I know I don't need to thank you ... but thank you."
"There is nothing to thank for. It is my pleasure to help you through this as best as I can." Tallus said looking at Cara.
Curious she asked out of nowhere "Do Vulcans cuddle and show affection?" She almost groaned at her foot in mouth disease.
Tallus gave a slight laugh. "Traditionally, no. They do not show emotion if you remember."
"How about you and your family?"
"Me and my wife would on occasion, yes." Tallus said remembering all the times fondly.
"I should warn you that Jesse and I are quite tactile ... I think its part of what was done to us."
"I can accept that. I am not afraid of contact." Tallus said with a smile.
"Good." She grinned at that and planned to test it at the earliest possible point. Her smile turning impish she decided that there was no point like the present and standing up moved so that she could hug him gently cuddling into him.
Tallus opened his arms to embrace Cara. It was good that there was someone that he actually had to care for again.
Relaxing into the embrace Cara smiled admitting "I'd forgot how nice it was just to have someone to hug when you needed it."
"This is the first time that I have hugged anyone non Vulcan." Tallus said with a laugh.
Laughing Cara teased "I promise not to bite ... I'm mostly housebroken."
Tallus gave a laugh. "Well, that's more then I can say. I am not housebroken." Tallus grinned.
She laughed fully at that "Good ... its highly overrated."
Tallus gave a good laugh as he looked at Cara.
Smiling at him she realized he had managed to make her feel pretty relaxed about everything which surprised her in some ways but in others she realized that he was very un-Vulcan for all he was Vulcan. "At least now we both have a training opponent that we wont break at the first punch or throw."
"You would have to try very hard to do that with me. I have raised a Hirogen and fought side by side with a Klingon." Tallus said not wanting to let Cara go.
Cara stayed in his embrace "That's good to know ... I'm still learning to control my strength at times." It was a point of embarrassment to her that she had less control over her strength than an adolescent Vulcan a lot of the time.
"Well, you couldn't ask for a better partner." Tallus said smiling.
"True." She smiled and couldn't help cuddling closer her system needing the contact to stay stabilized.
Tallus just smiled as he enjoyed the embrace.
