Location: Giellun's Quarters
Timeline: Current
It had been a few weeks since Xavier and Giellun had started dating and despite a rather rocky start, the two had flourished in a way that Xavier had never thought possible. Xavier had only had one serious relationship before now. His first love, Joshua, had played a very important role in Xavier's life and the two might have been together still if it wasn't for the fact that he was currently on the other side of the quadrant. Being in Starfleet and a relationship wasn't always the easiest option and so the two had decided to just stay friends.
It wasn't all that different with Giellun than it had been with Josh, except that he and Gil had been friends first, good friends. This small, almost insignificant fact seemed to change the whole dynamic of the relationship, for the better. After only a few weeks Xavier felt very strongly about the half-Romulan and hoped that Gil felt the same towards him. The pair seemed to go from strength to strength, with each passing date-meeting-meal, the two grew together as a couple, as best friends. Maybe this was why Xavier still hadn't let Giellun progress their relationship further, physically. Sex changed everything and he didn't want to lose his best friend, but on the other hand he didn't want to lose his boyfriend either, it was quite a predicament.
Xavier threw his fork onto his almost-empty-plate. He knew when to admit defeat and this meal had beaten him. They were celebrating Xavier's promotion and once again Giellun had outdone himself in the kitchen. Xavier loved to cook but he was no where near as good as man sitting across from him.
"That was great Gil," Xavier said as he patted his very full stomach. "I'm going to need a whole new set of uniforms if you keep feeding me like this."
Giellun just looked over at Xavier, "Glad you liked it. I decided to go with an all French theme. It was a little difficult to find the shalotts for the chateau briand, but actually get the chaateu potatoes was the hardest. Are you sure they're not too done?"
He got up picking up the dinner plates and coming back a few minutes later with a rasberry souffle. He sat the dish in front of the man that he was begining to think of as his partner. Perhaps not for life, it was still to early in their realtionship for that, but at least for a lengthy period of time.
He sat down beside Xavier and poured them both another glass of wine, "You know I was going to make some smartass comment about eating the dessert of off our naked bodies, but maybe a more serious discussion is in order. I... I think I am starting to really fall in love with you."
He let that sentence hang there while he took a sip of the wine."
Xavier was eyeing up the souffle when Giellun dropped the bomb. BOOM!!!
Xavier was lost for words, stuck in a strange limbo. It wasn't like he didn't feel the same but how had things progressed so quickly? On one hand, Xavier loved hearing those words, he loved what they meant and the possibilities they created. On the other hand he was scared shit-less. This was all too much too soon. It had been a while since he let his guard down, opened that specific door to the possibility of love and romance. And here he was now, defenceless, exposed, almost an endangered species. This terrified him.
Xavier wanted to say to Giellun 'I think I'm falling for you too' or maybe even 'You're such a soppy git'. What he actually said was worse, much, much worse.
"The souffle looks great!"
Not being telepathic, Giellun did not know what Xavier was thinking so the comment about the souffle caught him completly off guard. For just a brief moment the ridges on his brow flared giving him a distinctive Romulan look.
He was somewhat taken aback by Xavier's comment, it seemed so out of place and inapproiate. He didn't trust himself to speak at that point, knowing the remark he wanted to make would only cause an argument, which was the last thing he wanted at that point.
So instead of speaking he decided to take action he leaned over and pressed his lips against Xavier in a kiss that was far from platonic.
Xavier could tell that he had hurt Giellun, the waves of anger radiating from him was almost unbearable, not to mention the look on his face. So to say he was surprised when Gil planted a kiss on his lips was a complete understatement. The kiss took his breath away and he eventually had to pull back just so he could catch it again.
"I should compliment your cooking more often," Xavier said without thinking.
Giellun shot him an incredulous look. "Seriously? Xav is that all you can say? Talking about my effing cooking?. I think a Counselor would say you're trying to avoid things. I didn't say I loved you, just that I thought I was falling in love with you.
So what is it that you're trying to tell me? Are you afraid of the big C word, do you not care about me other than just as a friend or what? Because I swear boyfriend your are damndest person to figure out in the galaxy."
OOC: C word? Commitment oooo
"I don't mean to be," Xavier said a little sulkily. He didn't like Giellun shouting at him but he knew he completely deserved it. What the hell was wrong with him? Why the hell was he so fixated on sabotaging this relationship? In the past he would have blamed Giellun; he was moving too fast or being too clingy, but this time Gil had done nothing wrong and Xavier was consistently hurting him. Maybe he should see a counselor, or maybe he should get his shit together, grow a pair and act like a man.
"I do care about you, just you took me by surprise, that's all."
Giellun relaxed and nodded his head. "Sorry, I didn't realize it was all that sudden, but let's not fight about it, that is the last thing i want right now. Let's finish that dessert and take it from there. Before that just more question. We have been going together for three months. And while I really enjoy kissing you. I mean really enjoy it, don't you think it's time that we do something more than that.
I mean I don't even know what you enjoy doing."
"I enjoy doing all the normal stuff, and the not so normal stuff." Xavier said with a seductive grin. It wasn't that he didn't want to with Giellun, it just never seemed the right time. Their dates normally ended up with one of them being called away on some important errand or duty bound job. And on the nights they truly had to themselves Gil cooked so much that the thought of walking back to his own quarters hurt Xavier's head, never mind anything more strenuous. This happened to be one of the latter nights, but Xavier didn't know how to put the idea out of Giellun's head without hurting his feelings again.
"I'm worth the wait Lt, trust me," Xavier said, trying his best to keep the mood light.
Both of Giellun's brows rose as Xavier's mentioned at the not so normal stuff. A slow grin spread over his face.
"I know you are that's why I haven't pushed, really I'm not pushing now. I am willing to wait. One thing I would like sooner rather than later, is to sleep with you. Not sex, just having you there beside me in bed. To feel your skin next to mine."
"You want a sleepover?" Xavier asked, fighting back a smile.
Giellun ran a hand through his short blonde hair, trying to decided whether to use his puppy dog eyes and decided against it. This needed to be something that Xavier wanted to, not something he was talked into.
Still he could not help but keep the hopefulness out of his voice, "Yeah that's exactly what I want. I even promise to be good. I think it would be fun, but you have to be comfortable with the idea. You just tell me when you're ready for it."
Xavier rolled his eyes dramatically. "You're such a girl. How about tonight? But you have to know, I'm only staying over to please you," he added with a huge grin.
Giellun chuckled, "I defintely have the wrong equipment to be a girl, but tonight is good. And thanks boyfriend, I owe you one. Maybe we can...please each other sometime."
Xavier chuckled at Giellun's joke but didn't say much to his other comment. "Now can I enjoy the souffle without feeling guilty?"
"Yeah of course Xav, I hope I didn't pout too much. Enjoy. I have an annoucement too. I had a talke with Brian Windsong and Colonel Drake today."
Xavier tucked into his desert, even though he was already quite full. He had met Drake, obviously, but he hadn't had a chance to speak to Windsong at all. "Yeah?" he asked as he tried not to spray Gil with food. "What about?"
"Well, I had met Commander Windsong in the lounge the other day and we got to talking. I had complained about my new boss, Lt. Lawerence who has a stick up his ass and among other things disaproves of my, our lifestyle.
Anyway, I get called into the CO's office thinking I must have done something wrong or pissed off his highness, Lawerence not Drake, and was going to have by butt reamed. Instead I got an inter-departmental transfer. I'll be working under Commander Windsong now. Your boyfriend is now a Diplomat."
"Wow, congratulations," Xavier said. "How'd a hothead like you manage to get that job?" He joked.
"Well have you seen my boss? He is rather attractive you know." Giellun returned not quite managing to keep a straight face.
Xavier eyed Giellun for a second and then broke out into a smile. "Luckily for you, I'm a very talented telepath."
Giellun looked over at him and was about to reply with something smart, but stopped himself. "Seriously, I thought it was just because he felt sorry for me because my boss, but he really does think I can pull it off.
it does feel good to have someone who believes in me. Kind of like I believe in you."
Xavier looked deep into Giellun's violet eyes. "I believe in you. You're fantastic at your job and it's about time that was recognised."
They were already close and Gielluin just loved it when Xavier looked at him that way. He knew the dessert was getting cold but he didn't care at the moment. He set down the plate, brought both hands up to Xavier's neck and pulled him close so that they had no other choice but to kiss.
Xavier embraced the kiss as it grew more and more passionate. Nothing else mattered at this point; the dessert, how full he was, hell not even his own name. All that mattered was him and the half-Romulan; two people, two minds, one never ending pair of lips.
