Mission: A Diplomatic Affair
Location: IKS Bej’joq
Timeline: Back Story

“Even half-drunk, Klingons are among the best warriors in the galaxy.”
The Doctor.

The IKS Bej’joq, a Vor’cha class battle cruiser commanded by Captain Krarak patrolled the border between Klingon and Romulan space. From time to time she would engage in defensive battles when Romulan warbirds would show their ugly faces.

Sometimes the Bej’joq would have to fight to save Klingon outposts when the Romulan warbirds workday attack them, but the Bej’joq was always victorious in their battles. The crew of the Bej’joq enjoyed celebrating their victories with blood wine and lots of it.

Captain Krarak, Commander Krell and two Lieutenants sat around a table in the Captain’s quarters and drank blood wine. They laughed and yelled out as they told stories of their glorious battles and feats. Now was the time of the warriors for there might not be a tomorrow.

'ej HumtaH 'ej DechtaH 'Iw
'ej Doq SodTah ghoSpa' Sqral bIQtiQ
'e' pa' jaj law' mo' jaj puS
jaj qeylIS molar MIgh HoHchu'

And the blood was ankle deep
And the River Skral ran crimson red
On the day above all days
When Kahless slew evil Molor dead

They sang of glorious battles of the past. Then they were interrupted by the comm, =^=Captain, we’re receiving a distress signal from a Klingon colony in the Kletas system. They say they are under attack by a Romulan warbird.=^=

=^=Set course for the Kletas system. Maximum warp and engage, activate the cloak and go to alert Statius one.=^= Krarak responded. He looked at the men around him, “To day is a good day to die!” He stood and they all head butted each other before they departed for the bridge. Hopefully soon they would engage in glorious battle against an enemy that had no honor.

Captain Krarak was a seasoned soldier as well as a seasoned Ship’s captain. He glanced over at Krell. Krell was a proud and seasoned warrior and Krarak appreciated Krell, he was like a younger brother to him and Krell felt like Krarak was a brother to him.

Krell began to beat a rhythm on the top of consoles and equipment as he began to sing:

Qoy qeylIs puqloD.
Qoy puqbe'pu'.
yoHbogh matlhbogh je SuvwI'
Say'moHchu' may' 'Iw.
maSuv manong 'ej maHoHchu'.
nI'be' yInmaj 'ach wovqu'.
batlh maHeghbej 'ej yo' qIjDaq vavpu'ma' DImuv.
pa' reH maSuvtaHqu'.
mamevQo'. maSuvtaH. ma'ov.

Hear! Sons of Kahless.
Hear! Daughters too.
The blood of battle washes clean.
The warrior brave and true.
We fight, we love, and then we kill.
Our lives burn short and bright.
Then we die with honor and join our fathers
in the Black Fleet where we battle forever,
battling on through the Eternal fight.

“We are entering the Kletas system.” The helmsman said, interrupting their chant.

“Reduce speed to impulse and head for the colony.” Krarak turned to the Science Officer, “What do you have on sensors?”

The science officer check the readings before giving his report, “One Romulan warbird is attacking the third planet, the colony.”

“Too easy.” Krarak said, “Scan for subspace distortions in case there are more warbirds out there under cloak. Prepare to decloak on my command!” He ordered.

“We will be in weapons range in the seconds….”

“Stand by…” Krarak said.

“We are now in weapons range!”

“Decloak!” Krarak ordered then added, “Fire volley! Raise shields!” The first volley his the unsuspecting warbird hard, disabling its weapons and engines. The vor’cha class cruiser went down and under the crippled warbird.

“Two more warbirds decloaking, captain!” The science officer said.

The Bej’joq was rocked as both warbirds concentrated fire on it. Sparks and smoke erupted from various consoles as the volleys continued to hit the Klingon battle cruiser. “Return fire, target the nearest warbird!” Krarak ordered.

The Bej’joq let loose powerful volleys that pounded the targeted warbird and their shields began to weaken, but not before the Bej’joq was hit hard. Consoles exploded, sending deadly debris like shrapnel in all directions and the cruiser rocked from internal explosions.

The bridge was obscured with smoke and small fires were scattered about. The klaxons were whaling and the red emergency lighting flickered. A bloody gloved hand grasped the console as the Klingon warrior slowly rose to his feet, it was Krell. His face and forehead bled from various contusions from the shrapnel, but he seemed to be generally okay.

Krell looked around as others slowly hoisted themselves up off the floor and back into the stations, except one, the Captain. Krell looked around and then spotted him laying the motionless. Krell quickly dropped to his side and lifted his head.

He looked at his mentor and smiled, “Sto’vo’qor awaits you my brother.” He took the d’k tahg from Krarak’s hand and thrusted it into his Captain’s heart. Krell looked up and bellowed loudly followed by the others on the bridge. It was a warning to Sto’vo’qor that a warrior was coming.

Krell gently laid the head of his friend on the floor before standing, “Status on the warbirds.”

“One warbird has moderate damage, one disabled and the last one has only minor damage.”

“What is the status of the shields on the warbird with moderate damage?” Krell asked.

“Their aft shield is down.”

“Boarding part, prepare for transport to their bridge.” Krell said as he pulled two mek’leths from his back and held them up. “Transport now!” He ordered.

A group of 10 armed Klingons materialized on the bridge of one of the warbirds. The Romulans began scrambling when the alarm was raised for the intruders. Disruptor fire was exchanged heavily as Krell sidestepped several shots and took cover behind consoles. He came up from the back side and sliced a couple of romulans cross ways down their torsos before lopping another romulan’s head completely off. He pulled a d’k tahg and threw it at a Romulan as he entered the bridge, the dagger hit him squarely in the chest stopping him cold.

The other Klingons made quick work of the rest of the Bridge crew with their disrupters. “Seal that door.” Krell said as he pointed to the bridge door, “I don’t want anyone else getting in!”

“Someone take the helm and take us straight for that other warbird,” Krell said as he accessed the weapon controls and began firing everything the warbird had at the other warbird.

The other warbird changed targets and began firing at the approaching warbird, but it was too late. “Transport up back now!” Krell ordered over his coms and right away the team was aboard in time to see the two warbird collide with each other. The explosion that ensued was spectacular.

Krell turned his attention towards the colony, it was in pretty bad shape so he decided to evacuate all the wounded to another location. Krell was now the Captain of the Bej’joq and he was pleased that his friend Krarak died in glorious battle and was now in Sto’vo’qor.
