Cara had been thinking on her way back to the office she was about to leave and grinned as an idea came to mind. Walking into the office she looked Dev over with a frown on her face and keeping her laughter out of her voice said "Lt Commander Kell you are out of uniform."

Kell looked up at Cara and shrugged. "We've talked about this before Cara. I won't wear a Marine Uniform, I'm Star Fleet...even if I work with the Marines."

She chuckled "Nope not even close Commander ... may I ask why you arent in Yellow?" She was going to take pity on him in a minute but felt like playing a bit first.

"You know I don't wear yellow Cara...not since Andromeda." He looked at her, "And I haven't been a Commander at least that long."

Deciding to take pity on him she said "You remember our little adventure right? A couple of things came out of it ... Your looking at the new XO of the starbase ... and you have been reinstated to Lt Commander and Chief of Security."

"Yeah right...they put a fleeter in charge of security." Kell was dubious at best. He stopped and thought. He knew Cara wouldn't play like that. "Wait, reinstated?" He smiled. "Chief of Security?"

She grinned and hugged him "Yeah Dev ... its real. I wouldnt yank your chain." She knew how much both had meant to him and how much it had hurt to loose them. "Starting 5 minutes ago."

"Thank you Cara. I don't know how you did it...but thanks." He hugged her. It was out of character for him but this time it was definitely called for.

"Your more than welcome bro ... I just wish I could have done it for you earlier."

Kell smiled. "No you don't. You wish you were there to kick the crap outta that ass just like I did."

Laughing Cara nodded "Pretty much ... He wouldnt have even looked at a girl like that again."

"I don't think he will...Once he's done in prison, he'll be too old to get it up for a woman."

"Good ... he's lucky I was more worried about you or he would have found himself waking up as a girl."

Devyn laughed. "You sound like Nyx. As if I'd need protecting from either of you." He laughed again. "I am grateful for my position and rank back...don't get me wrong. But it comes down to kicking ass....neither you nor Nyx has anything on me. Unless she's in beastie form." He shrugged an agreement to that.

Shrugging Cara reminded him "If it wasnt for you I would have failed the academy so many times."

"Nah, you just had to get a grip." He smiled and hugged her. "Thank you Cara. This means a lot to me."

Hugging him back she said softly "We may not be blood but you are still my brother. I will always be there for you when you need me." Blushing she added "You're welcome."
