Location: Science lab 4
Timeline: current
After Lys was denied being sent over to the ship that was in itself a scientific discovery. She turned on her heel and left the transporter room. Seriously what else could she do, go against some Marines order. Not likely, oh Lys had thought about it and then changed her mind, it wasn't worth the reprimand.
It wasn't until recently that her head had felt like it was on straight most of the time, after the loss of her husband and her baby, it had been hard. Really, really tough, but she had made it through most of it. Nyx's little one had been a blessing, to hold that little one had made Lys smile and had helped heal that tiny wound too. One day perhaps she would have a baby until then. She would simply try and do her job the best of her abilities and that meant give some new babies a new home. Little tiny, two eyed slimy things with scales and fins.
Lys entered lab four and gently netted out the fry and moved them to a tall jar like container.
"Lieutenant, you need an extra pair of hand?" Koal asked a bit gruffly
"Actually yes, yes I could." Lys turned and pointed at two tanks behind her. "I need those and those all in here. She said as she gently scooped some more of the fry into the container. Lys stuck the net back into the tank and ran the net around and around in circles. She concentrated so hard that she stuck her tongue out between her teeth in concentration.
Koal had finished moving his fish from tank one too the tall container and started on tank two. His method involved two nets. One bigger one that he placed in one end of the tank and one smaller one that he used to herd the fry into the bigger net. He concentrated hard as well. His forehead started to glisten with small dots as it wrinkled and puckered in concentration. He took a deep soothing breath in an attempt to calm himself. "Come on you little buggers, get in the net."
Lys's are still went around and around in the tank, every time she through the fry was cornered it squirmed away. The science officer now had her other hand in the tank and was motioning with her fingers in an attempt to move the fish to the net. "Oh come on! Already!" She exclaimed.
A few other science officers stood just in the door way and watched the two work their nets. The chuckled softly and some one started to take bets to see who would complete their task first. The science chief or her assistant.
