Location: Commander Windsong's Quarters
Timeline: O Dark thirty

After the brief and unproductive staff meeting regarding the alpha 49 section of the starbase Samantha had decided that teaming up with Brian and his diplomatic influences would be a good way for intelligence to get an idea of who or what might have been behind this nasty and gruesome situation.

She'd gone to her quarters to change out of her uniform and had nearly given up on the idea of even making it to Brian's, it had been that long of a day. But she wanted the company and his was the best besides Wicker's of course. So she changed into something a little less official and went to his quarters with no intent on going back to her own for the night. But, she wanted to talk before she wanted to cuddle.

Brian was laying on top of the bed just resting. He wanted to justrest for awhile. It was very late and he was tired but he had to let thing settle in his brain before he could sleep.

Wicker stirred on the floor beside Alpha and stood to her feet. Alpha's woman was coming, she could smell her. She liked Woman Smell. Woman Smell petted her, gave her treats. Woman Smell made Alpha happy too. Wicker liked Alpha to be happy. If he was happy she go to play more. She really liked fetch. She used to play chase but then there was that time that she chased the Bad Ferengi Smell's ducks. He ws going to kill them anyway but Alpha had given Bad Ferengi Smell something and she wasn't allowed to play Chase anymore.

she went to the door and waited.

Samantha took a deep breath and chimed the door before stepping inside, it slid open and she assumed since it wasn't locked that there wasn't any reason she wouldn't be welcome. Wicker's big tail was brushing the flooring back and forth the instant Sam came in the room and she knelt down to give Wicker a bit of attention. "You knew I was coming, didn't you?" She grinned. "I tell you what you're getting to be my best girlfriend." She smirked. "Should we go to the holodeck tomorrow and run a bit?" She rubbed Wickers white fur for a few minutes before standing. "I know it's late, I promise I'll let him sleep soon."

She looked up at Alpha's woman and licked her hand. 'ball, ball, ball tomorrow Woman smell would take her to run and play with ball. Wicker liked her, he licked her hand and barked softy, then went back to rest on her bed.

Brian rolled off the bed on to his feet, "Sam, he said to her with a wan smile, "I couldn't sleep, couldn't get all those people and what was done to them out of my head. Please tell me your Federation takes this seriously and they have ways of dealing with the people responsible."

Samantha came into the bedroom when she heard his voice. "I didn't think you'd be able to, don't worry we're going to catch whoever did this and yes... we have ways of dealing with monsters like this." She retorted. "I was actually going to come ask you for your help. You're senses are heightened and I can use your senses and your contacts to help track down what little data we'll pull of those computers." Samantha smirked. "The average criminal makes 10 mistakes in every crime. This asshole is no exception, we just have to find those mistakes." She smirked. "We might even be able to use Wicker's nose in this."

Wicker looked up at the Alpha's Woman. Her nose was a good nose. She could sniff out Bad Man's Smell. She gave a sharp bark and sat down by Woman Smell. She growled deep in her throat. BITE. she might get to BITE. Alphas didn't like it when she tried to BITE, but maybe he would let her this time.

She looked over at Alpha and whinned.

Brian nodded. "Of course I will do what I can, especially with my senses. But Giellun is probably the one that has better connections."

Samantha looked a little surprised at the suggestion. "maybe telepathically but his eyes will get in his way." She admitted the mentality behind her request. "I mean, Brian if you don't think you can I won't ask you too."

"No, that's not what I meant. Of course I'll help you. I just meant that Giellun might be another resource for you to use because of his contacts and connections."

She blushed slightly. "Oh... right. Course." She looked at Wicker. "Why didn't you translate for me?" She teased.

Wicker looked up at Good Woman Smell and cocked her head slightly. Then sha lay down and put her paws over her eyes.

"Make no mistake. I don't like bullies and I'll do whatever I can to help. What did you have in mind?"

Samantha knelt down and stroked Wickers fur, with a smirk. As she looked up at Brian. "The files we recovered were degraded badly. escaped probably in a hurry. I'm hoping there is something I can't see or hear that you can in those damaged files." She offered. "And through a little wedding we'll be able to narrow down when this happened and who was on the station at the time it happened." She said. "But first... I just want to sleep."

"Ny bed is you bed. You know that don't you."

Samantha smiled up at him and couldn't wait for him to be able to see her smiling at him. "I didn't want to assume that, but I was pretty sure. It's not really your bed I'm after though." She stood up. "It's the company of the man I'm in love with that I need to sleep tonight."
She had hated all those horrific images she'd seen tonight too. Sleep wouldn't come easy alone.

"Actually it's not my bed. It's our bed." he offered.

That made her reach around him and hug him.

He knew his way there, he didn't need any guide. He started back to the bedroom. Wicker looked between Alpha And good Sam Woman Smell cocked her head and walked stiffly over to her bed. There would be Bad Smell coming from ALpha's room soon. Wrestling Smell. Wicker didnt like Wrestling Smell.

Samantha walked with him and smirked. "I think wicker is expecting something both of us are too tired for."

"She probably is. But nothing says we can't fulfill her expectations after a few hours of sleep, if wer'e both in the mood for it that is. But yeah for now, I just want to sleep. Nxt to you of course."

She smiled as she followed him. "I think a few hours of sleep next to you would be a blessing." Sam admitted sheepishly. "Otherwise I might have nightmares tonight."

"You and me both," he admitted aa he crawled into bed, pulling back the covers for her."Come on, let's just hold each other for awhile."

Samantha slipped out of her shoes and slid right in beside him, spoon against him she welcomed the warmth of his body and his embrace. "We'll catch the bastards responsible for this and we'll make then answer for it." She promised him.

He kissed the back of her neck and snuggled closer. "Good, do you know what an affront this is to me. To any Akadain. To have someone experiment like that. To us such a thing is unthinkable. There are many things that make us different from other races. Most people just see us as sex crazed psychics, they don't realize that we are also very spiritual. Maybe a different kind of spirituality but spiritual nonetheless.

What those people had happened to them is a violation of everything that we believe to be holy sacrosanct. It makes what was done to me, even what was done to Morgan seem like... like storelifting.
Did you know there is still residualy psychic pain there?"

Samantha listened to him absorbing what he was telling her, how he felt how his people viewed this kind of attack on the rights of an individual, the physical destruction of a persons body against their will. When he asked her if she realized there was still a residual trace of pain there she looked at him moving slightly to see him. "You mean like a persons energy is trapped there, like ghosts?"

"Yes something like that. I can feel them. Maybe some of the other telepaths can too."

Samantha looked at him. "Could you use that connection to learn who did this?!"

"Possibly, though that would be distrubing. Still it might give them rest. They aren't resting now. There is turmoil."

Samantha was aware that she was suggesting a lot for him, nightmares at the least. "Lets consider it when we're both more awake."

"Agreed,"he said. "For now I just want to hold you and sleep. Just sleep. We wouldn't want to piss off Wicker would we.?"

She grinned and couldn't help but laugh. She snuggled against him and was happy to be against his warmth. "Not yet at least."

He grinned in spite of everything that had happened recently, wrapped his arms around her and tried to relax enough to sleep.
