Captain's Personal Log - Stardate 64955.7

Lieutenant Graves, Crewman Meadows and I are now en route to the USS Bretagne - we are due to arrive in roughly twenty minutes. I find myself very excited and slightly nervous about the prospect.

Excited on the one hand to get stuck into a real mystery - my love of old Starships and tactical knowledge seem to be resurfacing. I feel like a Marine Tactical Officer once again.

On the other hand I am slightly nervous for two reasons. Firstly this is my first time leading an away mission as a Commanding Officer. It is true I have led them before as a Head of Department, but something about it is different when you know there is no one else more senior to ask or query a point with.

[Pause]

I am also nervous because something about this doesn't quite add up. The Bretagne has been missing for over twenty years and now it resurfaces so far away from it's last known position. I don't like thinking it, but I fear what we are to find on board will not be pleasant.
