I am a surgeon who would like to put his fist through a wall--without regard to my hand health.
It seems that Admiral Adrian Dobbs (Ret.) was behind that house of horrors known as Section 49-Alpha. Thus his retirement, obviously forcible.
A man I used to chat with and liked either directly or indirectly experimented on several people, Lt. Commander Scott Allen Breaux among them, leaving them dead and him all but dead for 15 years. I don't know how I kept from vomiting right onto Chlamydia's desk; I really don't.
Forget destroying a wall. What I truly want to do is put my fist through Adrian's smug little face, and yank his brains out through the eye sockets. Or perhaps not, on second thought. I don't want that much physical contact with his gray matter.
I understand now why there couldn't be a public trial. The firestorm of public opinion and the disillusionment within and without Starfleet would be difficult for the Federation to deal with, to put it mildly. Personally, I think I'd have gone for a public trial regardless--or a secret assassination. The thought is tempting, anyway.
Sword of Light and Shadow, after all.
