St. Joan's School for Girls

Saint Joan's School for Girls, despite the name, is not a Catholic school. It's a K-12 college preparatory academy located on Deck 700, which emphasizes critical thinking, research skills, and martial arts. It's an alternative to the station's regular educational facilities, which parents can opt into. As the name suggests, it is only for girls, as the founders believed that girls were less likely to receive the kind of education which emphasized a sound mind in a sound body. It has a very high graduation rate, and a very high college placement rate. Several alumnae have gone on to Starfleet Academy.

Tuition is on a sliding scale, so children of civilians and enlisted personnel can attend alongside the children of officers and corporate moguls.

The uniform is a white blouse with a droopy bow-tie in blue striped with silver. This is covered by a navy blue blazer or a robin's egg blue sweater-vest. Box-pleated skirts in Navy Blue, or knife-pleated skirt in the school's tartan (a blue-silver-gold plaid) are commonplace, but navy-blue trousers or dress shorts are also acceptable, and accommodations are made for those who have varying physiology. Skirts are to be no higher than five centimeters above the top of the knee for species who have knees, and long enough for modesty on species who do not. Black or white socks and Mary Janes complete the look.
